Armstrong County Profile Butler County Profile Indiana County Profile Tri-County Regional Profile Tri-County Snapshot Tri County Cluster Sheets 2005: Contains information provided by CWIA for the period 2001-2005 and calculated by CPWDC and includes the following information: employer units (2005), number of jobs (2005), percent change in number of jobs (2001-2005), percent of total county jobs, average annual wages, estimated cluster payroll, state location quotient (2005), percent change in state location quotient (2001-2005), and top 3 employing industries in cluster. Cluster Summary Overview: The Cluster Summary Overview describes the industry cluster initiative, what kind of information is generated as a result of the initiative, and how that information might be used. Tri County Cluster Data (2001- 2005): This file contains industry cluster statistics (by cluster) for the five clusters identified by your WIB comparing 2001 and 2005 average annual data. Data is provided by CWIA and Economic Modeling Specialists Inc. (most common occupations). Tri County Commuting Patterns by Industry: looks at the major industries for which individuals commute to or from the Tri-County WIA. The focus of this report is not the county of work for out-commuters or county of residence for in-commuters. This information can be found on your area’s regional and county demographic profiles. Basic commuting pattern data (i.e., overall out-commuting and in-commuting), however, is presented for each area. The report presents information for the region as a whole as well as its constituent counties. Commuting pattern data by industry is provided by the Bureau of Economic Analysis and is based on the 2000 Census. Occupational Employment Concentrations Analysis: looks at the concentration of occupations in your Workforce Investment Area compared to the Commonwealth. Occupational location quotients can represent three different scenarios: 1. LQ = 1: a locale has the same concentration of employment in a given occupation as would be found in the larger geography. 2. LQ > 1: a locale has a greater concentration of employment in a given occupation suggesting that the locale has a relatively high demand for a certain skill set, representing the human capital competitive advantage. 3. LQ < 1: a locale has a below average concentration of employment in a given occupation suggesting that the locale does not have demand for a particular skill set. The report identifies occupations that have a high concentration in the area and those that have experienced and are expecting increasing concentrations. Results are presented for 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-digit SOC (Standard Occupation Code) occupations. Information presented in this report is useful for education providers (e.g., how is the concentration for occupations changing/expected to change), economic developers (e.g., what types of jobs have a high concentration in the local economy), and CareerLink staff (e.g., what job openings may become available as the concentration for various occupations increases in the future).
