The Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, Southwest Corner Workforce Development Board, Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board, and Partner4Work held the second annual SWPA Healthcare Expo: The Pulse on Career Pathways. This hands-on, interactive event connected middle and high school students with healthcare employers, training providers, and education partners to explore the many career opportunities in the growing healthcare sector.
This year’s event brought together more than 1,600 students from across nine counties to engage with vendors, learn about healthcare careers, and discover education and training programs that prepare them for the future of work in healthcare at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center on October 17, 2025.

Healthcare is one of the fastest-growing sectors in southwestern Pennsylvania, with thousands of job openings projected in the next decade. The SWPA Healthcare Expo introduced students to in-demand career pathways, from nursing and medical technology to behavioral health and emergency response, helping build a strong and diverse healthcare workforce for the region.
